Maryland Public Information Act

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office complies with Maryland law governing access to public records. Requests for public records shall be submitted under the Maryland Public Information Act (MPIA).

If possible MPIA requests should be submitted in writing and include specific details about the specific information you are requesting. Requests being made on behalf of a business or organization should be submitted on official letterhead. Requests may be made in person, by mail, or by emailing the Calvert County Custodian of Records at David.Payne@calvertcountymd.gov. You may also contact the Custodian of Records at 410-535-1600 ext. 2464 with requests or questions.

Requests that exceed two (2) hours to research and copy, will be charged an hourly rate fee. The hourly rate fee will be based off the identified staff member(s) that are assigned to complete the request.

The Agency will not begin processing the request until payment has been received.
