Economic Development Advisory Commission

Overview

The commission acts in an advisory capacity to promote, encourage and improve the county's general economic well-being by assisting in implementation of the county's five-year strategic plan, providing feedback to the BOCC on policies affecting economic development and serving as an ambassador in recruiting businesses and promoting Calvert County to business prospects. Applicants are sought from a diversity of industries including agriculture, manufacturing, health care, construction, hospitality and professional services.

Meetings

The commission meets the second Wednesday of February, April, June, August, October and December at 9 a.m. and the Economic Development Advisory Commission complies with the Open Meetings Act. Agendas and minutes are available in the Agendas and Minutes Center.

Economic Development Authority

Overview

The authority undertakes and supports economic development activities countywide and was created for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, developing, improving, operating and managing economic properties in the county. The authority oversees management and land sales at the Calvert County Industrial Park and the Patuxent Business Park.

Meetings

The commission meets the second Monday of each month (as needed) and complies with the Open Meetings Act. Agendas and minutes are available in the Agendas and Minutes Center.
