Planning Commission
The Commission serves as a citizen review board on County planning decisions; makes recommendations concerning the zoning of land, amendments to the ordinances, the development of public structures and services, land acquisitions, and other development and growth-related issues; creates, approves, and amends the Comprehensive Plan; prepares master plans and other reports necessary to guide development or to educate the citizens of County planning decisions; and reviews and approves the subdivision of land for residential and commercial use and plans for the future development of individual sites.

Police Accountability Board
Through the Maryland Police Accountability Act of 2021 – Police Discipline and Law Enforcement Programs and Procedures, which was enacted by the Maryland General Assembly on April 10, 2021, the Calvert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is required to establish a Police Accountability Board (PAB) and an Administrative Charging Committee (ACC).

Property Tax Assessment Appeals Board
The Board have jurisdiction over all appeals in Calvert County concerning property tax assessments, the Home Owners’ Tax Credit Program, the Renters’ Tax Credit Program, the Agricultural Land Preservation Easement Program, and other local tax matters assigned to the Board for hearing.

Calvert County Redistricting Committee
The Calvert County Redistricting Committee is comprised of nine (9) members of which five (5) are appointed by the Commissioners, one (1) by the Calvert County Democratic Central Committee, one (1) by the Republican Central Committee, one (1) by the League of Women Voters of Calvert County, and one (1) by the NAACP Calvert County branch.

Sheriff Office Pension Plan Board of Trustees
The County adopted the Calvert County Sheriff's Office Pension Plan effective July 1, 1989, for the benefit of its eligible employees.
