Agricultural Reconciliation Committee

Overview

The committee was created as a result of the Calvert County Right to Farm Ordinance, adopted in 1996.The committee arbitrates / mediates conflicts involving agricultural or forestry operation conducted on agricultural lands and issues opinions on whether such agricultural or forestry operations are conducted in a manner consistent with accepted agricultural or forestry management practices.

Members

The Board of County Commissioners shall appoint five members, of which at least:two shall be members of homeowners' associations; two shall be recommended by the agriculture community; and one shall be chosen as an at-large member.The term of each member shall be three years.

The Agricultural Reconciliation Committee is ready to comply with the Open Meetings Act.

Agendas and minutes are available upon request, this board meets on as needed basis, and has not met recently.
