Calvert County Parks and Recreation Volunteers are essential to the productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of CCPR department operations. The CCPR Volunteer program enables community involvement with implementing department programing, facilities, and operations. Volunteers may assist the department in meeting the ever-increasing service needs and demands, and to maintain a high standard of quality for CCPR.
Opportunities include:
Regular Volunteer: For anyone who wants to volunteer but doesn't have a specific event in mind.
Special Event Volunteer: For volunteers who plan on helping with a certain event(s).
Volunteer Coach: For individuals looking to coach in our youth sports programs. Applicants will need to submit a background check.
Interns
This program covers individuals working as unpaid interns. Tasks may include clerical operations, landscaping, grounds maintenance, recreation, nature, and sports programs. Individuals interested in becoming an intern for CCPR should fill and submit a volunteer application and staff from your selected facility will reach out and coordinate work.
Community Service Hours
Student Service Learning Hours: CCPR coordinates with Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS) to help students fulfill community service hours at our events. Student Service Learning is a Maryland State Department of Education graduation requirement requiring 75 hours of service to the community prior to graduation. Please remember to bring your form.
Court Mandated Community Service:Workers can earn community service hours for the following positions when minors aren't present:
Parks & grounds maintenance
Trash clean up in parks
Cleaning Facilities
